Classroom Safety Training

How do I book my training?

Classroom training can be reserved and paid for entirely online by first selecting a course and location from the web store and then choosing an available date. Alternatively, reservations and payments can be processed over the phone by calling our toll free line.

Does Worksite Safety provide on-site training?

Yes, we do. In order to provide on-site training, our instructors require a classroom or meeting room that is able to facilitate the training course. Typically, this must include access to power, internet (or cellular reception), seating for all students, and adequate room to properly administer equipment demonstrations and training. Pricing for on-site training varies based on travel expenses and other factors.

What is provided?

Student manuals, writing utensils, and all other training materials required to complete a course will be provided. Lunch is not provided. Students are urged to call at least 5 business days ahead of time if special considerations or teaching aids are required.

How do I get my certificate?

Your certificate of completion will be issued at the end of your training course once you have successfully completed the required training and assessments. For Working at Heights, Worksite Safety will issue a certificate to be used until you receive the email from SkillsPass with your digital training record.

How long are training courses?

The typical course length is 6-8 hours, depending on the course. Students are expected to arrive at least 5-15 minutes before the start time.

Are there any breaks?

There are two fifteen-minute breaks as well as a half-hour break for lunch.

Is there parking available? Are any restaurants nearby?

Street parking and parking lot availability varies by location. Please contact us for clarification if you are unsure of where to park or eat.


Online Safety Training

Are the Worksite Safety online safety courses recognized in the industry?

Our training is developed by subject matter experts and instructional designers based on Canadian federal and provincial legislation, Canadian safety standards and industry best practices. Worksite Safety’s courses have been used to train hundreds of thousands of individuals and organizations across multiple industries in Canada including:

Are there any tools available to employers or training managers?

Training managers and employers are granted free and unlimited access to user management and reporting tools to help facilitate the delivery and tracking of employee training. These tools are automatically made available after your purchase of any online training course.

I need to start work tomorrow! When will I get my certification card?

As soon as you finish your course, you can print off your certificate right from your computer. You can also use any other computer connected to the internet to print it as well. Depending on which course you have completed, a physical copy of your certificate will also be sent to your billing address.

Do I need any books or CD’s to complete the course?

All the training material can be found online, including student notes, module presentations and exams.

How can I get my certificate?

Your certificate will be available to print upon successful completion of the course exam.

How much does it cost to register for an account?

All of our accounts are free to register – you just need to purchase your courses and/or services.

How long does it take to complete a course?

Courses can take anywhere from 45 minutes to 9 hours to complete. There are no time limits to complete any of our courses.

What happens if I fail an Exam?

Exam attempts are unlimited for most courses. If you fail an exam, simply review your training and re-attempt the exam once you are confident in your subject matter knowledge.

How do I maintain my record of training?

Your training records are automatically stored securely by Worksite Safety for a minimum of 5 years following completion of your online training. During this time, certificates can be re-printed at no cost at any time. Exam results will also remain available for your review.

Who is considered a qualified or competent person?

A qualified person is someone who understands the safe work practices surrounding the equipment and safety procedures associated with a particular course, is currently certified in that course, and has fairly extensive experience related to the training content of the course.


Publishing & Authoring Services

I have existing training materials that we use at our workplace. Are we able to deliver them online?

Yes. Worksite Safety’s instructional design team is able to take your existing training materials and convert them into an online format, or even integrate existing materials as add-on modules for pre-existing courses. As an example, we could combine your site-orientation with a WHMIS 2015 program that is tailored to your workplace and it’s unique hazards.

I need training for a specific workplace hazard. Can you develop a custom training program for us?

Our team of subject matter experts and instructional designers are able to develop custom training modules based on your unique needs and workplace hazards. Once completed, these modules can be delivered in any number of different formats, including classroom training, online training, and book based learning. I don’t need a custom course for my workplace, but I do need to address certain hazards. Can courses be adjusted to better fit my workplace?

Yes. Custom modules can be authored and added to any of our existing courses to better suit the hazards that are unique to your workers and workplace. This can be as simple as adding a site orientation or including custom safety data sheets. Contact us to learn more.

Purchasing Questions

Can I purchase training for someone else?

Yes. After purchasing training on the website, you will be able to either enrol yourself or someone else. To apply the credits to someone else, go to your account under the “Manage Users” tab, and apply the credits to the required users there.

What payment methods do you accept?

Through the website we are able to accept Vise, Mastercard, American Express, Debit Visa, Debit Mastercard, Interact Online, and Paypal.

Why am I getting a payment error?

There are a few reasons you may get a payment error notification. The most common reasons are insufficient funds on the credit card, improperly entering credit card information, and that there is already an account on file with the card information or email address.

Platform Functionality

How do I assign training I purchased to someone else?

You are able to assign training to someone else, by going through the “Manage Users” tab and entering in the information of the person you want to assign the training to. They will then be able to login to the account and access their assigned training.

How do I access my training?

You are able to access your training courses by clicking on the “Training Courses” tab on the left side of the home page. From there you are able to start a training course, resume where you left off, or view your completed certificate.

Do I need an access code?

No, Access codes are only required if your account administrator has set one up for you. If you are the one who purchased the course, you will automatically have the course made available to you through your “Training Courses” tab.
